Concert in the Park Series – Dan Bates

This month’s Concert in the Park Series performer is country/bluegrass singer Dan Bates on Monday, August 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Dan Bates is finally able to make time for something that brings joy and a form of escape to himself as well as others: music. Although he has a vibrant passion and love for multiple genres and artists, including favorite Frank Sinatra and even hip-hop, country music perhaps speaks to his soul more than any other type of music.

Bates performs both solo and with fellow artists for various private and public events and venues, playing acoustic versions of popular songs from mostly country, folk, bluegrass and even ’80’s pop genres.

He has several albums under his belt, including a multi-instrumental Christmas album performed and recorded completely by himself, available on iTunes and Amazon.

The Concert in the Park Series is a celebration of wonderful music, open parks and family celebration. The Series runs from April through September in Vernon Worthen Park (300 S. 400 E.). Park seating is available, and families are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs and food! The concert series is FREE to the public, so don’t miss the second Monday of each month through September. For more information, call 435-627-4525.
