The City of Ivins is celebrating its annual end-of-summer Heritage Days from September 6-8, 2018! This year’s festival will take place in Ivins City Park (100 N. Main in Ivins) with the theme “Harvesting Our Heritage.”
Thursday, September 6 will kick off Heritage Days with the 100 Year Celebration of the Ivins Reservoir, in conjunction with the Water Conservancy District, the Shivwits Band of Paiutes, the Ivins and St. George/Santa Clara Irrigation Districts and Kayenta Properties. According to Ivins City Mayor Chris Hart, “[Ivins Reservoir} is the oldest reservoir in Washington County and perhaps the oldest off stream reservoir still in use in the western U.S. The vision behind it and the construction of it are great stories reflecting the dogged determination, sacrificing spirit and tireless work ethic of those who preceded us here.” Come join the celebration that evening starting at 6 p.m. in the newly refurbished Fire Lake Park!
On Friday, the fun continues back in Ivins City Park all evening with pioneer games, FREE root beer floats, live entertainment and a movie in the park! Saturday morning, the highlight of the festival will be the annual parade, followed by a soap box derby, free kids games, a show ‘n’ shine and fun for the whole family
Come celebrate the beauty and history of Ivins all weekend long at Heritage Days!
