As part of SunRiver’s 15th Anniversary Celebration, there will be a benefit golf tournament on Tuesday, April 30 sponsored by SunRiver St. George Development.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used to assist the family of HoneyDawn McElyea in covering medical costs incurred by her husband’s recent heart transplant surgery.
The tournament, which will consist of a 4-person scramble with a shotgun start, is open to the public. The shotgun starts promptly at 8:30 a.m. There is a $40 entry fee per player, with many tee prizes! Following the morning out on the golf course (included in the registration fee), lunch will be provided at the RiverWalk Grill for all golfers with entertainment by local singer-songwriter Yvonne Wall.
To register for this fun event to help one of SunRiver’s own, call the Pro Shop at 435-986-0001
About the McElyea Family
You cannot be in the SunRiver St. George community for very long without having your life touched by the vibrant, energetic and endlessly upbeat HoneyDawn McElyea, our very own Warranty and Carefree Living Manager. HoneyDawn’s family is experiencing a life-threatening health crisis, which, as so frequently happens, has created an urgent financial crisis for her and her family as well.
HoneyDawn’s husband, Brett, recently received a heart transplant after suffering five years of congestive heart failure. As you can imagine, the medical bills are now pouring in, while Brett recovers from his surgery in Salt Lake City, and HoneyDawn and their three children struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy at home.
We know that many in the SunRiver family – including employees, residents, vendors, etc. – will want to join us in helping one of our own in her time of need. Your thoughts and prayers for Brett’s recovery are needed and very appreciated. Even more, though, HoneyDawn and her family are under a tremendous, immediate financial burden.
